The collection of pedagogical objects

The collection of pedagogical objects owned by the Ursulines of Quebec is rich and diverse. In the 17th and 18th centuries, the collection consisted mainly of the didactic material used to teach reading, writing and catechism. The collection grew throughout the 19th century to support a rapidly-expanding curriculum. Physics and chemistry instruments, natural history specimens, globes and musical instruments form the core of this collection, presented in the museum’s permanent exhibition.
